We really like cars and we really like the idea of restoring and renewing that which is old. We like the history, we like the style, we like the reuse.

We’re tracking the car restoration projects going on in the central valley as well as documenting the car-culture events going on around us. We also hope to share with you the secrets we discover in regards to restoring, maintaining, presenting and enjoying great cars.

Who are We?

Jonn Beames is our primary contributor and editor. He’s also responsible for our technology infrastructure, though we got a head start by leveraging Mephisto and Ruby On Rails. He’s a software engineer with 9 years of experience working in internet application engineering and web application development in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Silicon Valley. He’s still doing web application engineering for a Bay Area company, but recently moved with his family into the central valley. Though born in Santa Cruz, he mostly grew up in the central valley, so it’s a sort of homecoming.

Emma Beames is our chief designer. She thinks the family’s Jaguar XK8 is a very pretty car, but finds the Volvo S60 much more practical. She’s designed a special layout for the site, but we aren’t using it yet.

Ben Beames returned to his birthplace of Santa Cruz for college and hasn’t left, but he grew up in the Central Valley where he developed a special appreciation for mustangs on long, straight, country roads. He may now run with exotics around the bends of Hwy 1, but he’s also still connected to the valley and cars in it.
